Corinne Bishop is finally free from the Dragos lab and is determined to be reunited with her family. Hunter offers to escort her to her family’s Darkhaven but things quickly turn south for them. And the more time she spends with Hunter the safer she feels and the more she starts to care for him.

This book had a lot going on. Corinne and Hunter have their own adventure to her family’s Darkhaven. We learn about the terrible things that have happened to Corinne and also to Hunter while under Dragos control. Hunter was perfect for Corinne because he made her feel safe and protected but wasn’t controlling. It was a little hard to get to know Hunter though because he is a very stoic and emotionless character and he only let that go occasionally. I do wish we had seen a little more of their relationship because it felt like it was cut off at the end a little abruptly but did enjoy it.

There was a lot of development with the overall story in this book. Dragos has found a way to set back the Order and now they are scrambling to deal with that fall out. Chase has also become more of a wildcard. I am sure we will see what is going to happen with that in the next book. Overall, this book was full of action, romance, and hope.

Trigger Warnings:

  • Corrinne was kidnapped, experimented on, and raped for decades.
  • Forced childbirth
